I’ve been going to the Shirlington Shell Service Center for about 10 years and they’ve always been a joy. It’s easy to get an appointment; they’re speedy; and they always contact you first if they find anything unusual or broken. They never try to up-sell. Just genuinely great guys to work with!


Very accommodating and friendly customer service. They accepted my car late in the day for an alignment fix and told me it would be ready for pickup the next morning. They later called me and said it was ready for pickup that same evening. A nice perk was the competitive pricing - I couldn’t find a better deal in the Arlington area. I would definitely recommend this service station and will be going back.


$200 parts and labor to change a cabin and engine air filter. A quick search returns $20 parts for both locations and using YouTube it can be seen that the job took the mechanics no more than 5 minutes. $40 in parts and $160 in labor for a couple of air filters on a very uncomplicated vehicle. This began as a $59 oil change and tire rotation and became a $259 total bill taking advantage of someone will little experience with vehicles. A vehicle with 15k on the odometer and an owners manual with a service interval of 45k for the engine filter and 22k for the cabin filter. Changed at that rate, that is $600 in engine and cabin filters over a period in which it should have really only been $80-$100 in parts and 10-15 minutes of labor. Even if the parts had to be sourced from the Autozone 2 miles away no one should be expected to pay a 600% markup to the friendly neighborhood mechanic for opportune and unnecessary maintenance... these aren’t specialty parts and a high performance vehicle nor emergency roadside service 50 miles from the next service station.


I brought my car in for an oil change, and got a call from Ron a few hours later with an issue with seal and bushing on the left front of my car. He let me come over to see the problem, explained what had to be done, and gave me a very fair quote (half of what the dealership would have charged me). Shirlington Shell was prompt and I really appreciated the quick turn around time to get the repair done. I dropped my car off at 1pm on Monday and had it back at 9:30 Tuesday morning. I would highly recommend this place for their professionalism, timeliness, and great service!


I have to say, overall I love this place. It is a Shell station, but you'd think it was a small-town service station the way that interact with you. They are always kind, friendly, and professional. They take the time to talk you through any repairs, have good prices and good timing. AND right now they are also doing a pick-up/drop-off of your car to limit exposure and having to come into the station!!! And before anyone worries about "well someone is in my car"... I will remind you that someone has to be in your car for the repairs/tests anyways, so it's nothing more than you'd have anyways, but this way you don't have to also go into the shop. All in all, I've used them too many times to count over the years and have never had an issue with any service. I love this place and I love the care they have for their customers.

I have always received excellent car service at Shirlington Shell. They have excellent technicians who are always very efficient, punctual, and very helpful. I value the service that Shirlington Shell has provided me for nearly 20 years.


Everyone at Shirlington Shell was extremely responsive and accommodating. My car was fixed promptly, and all repairs were fully explained. The valet service was especially helpful during the current crisis. I recommend them for reliable service.


I was recommended to this mechanic by a local business owner who has been taking his car there for 30 years. He could not say enough good things about this place and it’s owner, Ray. I had my car towed there the other day after my alternator busted. There were a couple of other issues that my Lexus dealer had previously mentioned, and they found those, too. What I really liked about their service is the transparency and professionalism in their communication. They also came up with a creative solution (at no cost) to fix what would have been an outrageously expensive replacement/repair to my driver’s side mirror in one case—showing that they really know what they’re doing, care about their customers, and take pride in their work. The car runs and drives like a dream now. And the icing on the cake is that their rates were much more reasonable than what the dealer had quoted me. Thank you Ray, Ron, and team!
